Teaching business and marketing to high school students is something I really enjoy. However, there are times when I regret that I can’t offer the students more of a “real life” experience. When my friend started telling me about her apprenticeship experience at iMADdu and the organization’s desire to reach out to high school students interested in entrepreneurship, I immediately began to think of the opportunities a partnership could offer my students.
Thanks to Mona Anita Olsen and then Stephanie Yang for giving my students the chance to take what they had learned in the classroom during their marketing course and apply it outside of the textbook. When Stephanie came to school to go over the results, it showed my class that the work they did was actually going to be used by iMADdu. The students had discovered an issue with the website that the organization was not aware of when they started the engagement.
This experience made the students aware that being diligent and observant can lead to discovering something of great value to an organization. I was very pleased with my experience with iMADdu and look forward to working with them in the future!
