A Different Approach to Marketing…Gracie Boliek

During my time at iMADdu, I have been put in various placement businesses. Throughout those placements, I have learned a lot of different strategies for the marketing world. Newsletters, flyers, social media, etc. are all common and effective strategies each business used to promote their business. Because social media is such a popular marketing strategy, what can make a business’ social medium stand out? One way that is becoming popular is making a Facebook Storefront. This tactic allows retail businesses to sell their products directly through Facebook posts. The Facebook Storefront can also help small businesses who aren’t getting many hits on their product website.

SVP of CRM and e-commerce at Express states, “If you look at what’s happening today, top-down marketing and driving people to places to [transact] has changed. We need to be where customers are having their experiences and sharing information. We need to take down the barriers preventing a shopping experience.” Applications such as SocialShop help businesses do this. While it is still early in the Facebook Storefront world, it is imperative for businesses to look into all technology solutions that fully leverage all of the social media shopping benefits.
