There are many features that I still need to learn about using Facebook. One of the features that I learned this week was about the community page. This page looks just like normal company or organization page with “Like†feature. However, the difference was that this page is managed by Facebook and cannot be edited or deleted. According to Facebook, the definition of the community page is when you share an interest on your profile or timeline that doesn’t match an existing page, we create a page that others can connect to also. The page is built around topics, causes, or experiences. Many shows Wikipedia articles about the topics they represent as well as related posts from other people on Facebook in real time.
There are many mixed reviews about Facebook creating community page but I think that they should remove this feature. One of the reasons is that it can confuse a lot of people since if they search on a company and shows two results, they wouldn’t know which one is the correct official page. Although they can look and see which page is more active with more likes and pictures, I think it will be more efficient and effective if Facebook just removed this community page feature all together. If they don’t want to remove it, then I think Facebook should give an option to company or organization admin to delete their community page. With this, it can eliminate any confusion that any new audiences might have.
