The second week went by faster than I thought. Tasks for this week included researching how to optimize Twitter and Facebook pages. I also critiqued and reviewed websites. Compared to last week, I was able to complete the tasks faster. Of all the tasks, I enjoyed updating the background image on a Twitter page the most. One of the reasons is that I got to use my Adobe Photoshop skills to replace the URL of the website in the image. Although I would need to start from scratch next week since the original image is missing, I was glad that I could use my skills and knowledge that I learned from taking a particular multimedia class last semester.
The class was IT 213, which titled Multimedia and Web Design. Although this class was an elective, I decided to take it to fulfill my information technology minor requirement and also, had an interest in improving my multimedia skills. In this class, I learned how to use Adobe Flash, Photoshop, and Dreamweaver. In addition, I learned about the fundamental web design principles and technologies, coverage of ownership, permissions, and copyright issues. At end of the semester, I had to create a website that uses all of the skills that I learned throughout the semester. Overall, I am happy that I took this class since I didn’t know how to use Dreamweaver which could benefit me in the future if I wanted to create a website from scratch. Also, by learning about Photoshop, I would be able to create unique and eye-catching ads and flyers.
