This week, I had many tasks to complete, which mainly focused on social media. I was given a task to optimize Google Plus posting for 3 companies. Although Google Plus is not a popular social networking service at this moment, I believe that someday, it might become a big platform as Facebook and LinkedIn. As same as other social networking sites, Google Plus is easy to setup and navigate. The tab consists of posts, about, photos, and videos. One major difference between Facebook and Google Plus is about the adding friends feature. For Facebook, you can go to people’s profile and request to be your friend. Once that person approves, then you can view their profile and other personal information. However, for Google Plus, once you request to be their friend, you can view their information without any approval. Also, they use the term circles to describe friends. As a result, it’s similar to Twitter feature unless the profile is protected. Although I have Google Plus page, I don’t use it at all since all of my social connections are done through Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter.
Other tasks for this week included researching for WordPress widgets and enhancing Facebook pages. Luckily, most of the tasks are things I have done in the past so it was easy to complete it and gain more experience. And I am hoping that I could use these skills and knowledge for my future job since I enjoy doing these kinds of work.
