Every day, I try to make a difference in someone else’s life. Most of the time, I accomplish this by offering advice, and passing any relevant knowledge I can to my family and friends. I find that giving without any expectation for a reward is the best feeling you can have. Volunteering by handing out food at homeless shelters is an obvious example of this, but I make a difference in other ways as well.
If I’m starting a new business venture, I always keep my friends and colleagues in mind, and try to think of ways that I can involve them. It hasn’t worked out yet, but I’d love to see my friends succeed alongside me. I find that there are very few people around who are willing to take the time to motivate you, and try to have you set goals for yourself. When this does happen, people are generally quite suspicious since they believe you’re doing this for your own selfish reasons. But when they finally let go, and allow themselves to accept any advice or criticisms you may have of them, that’s when they can grow the most as human beings. Not just on a business level, but on a personal level as well. Seeing people accept what you say, and try to make a difference in their own lives is an extremely good feeling. Hopefully, they take what you have given them and try to pass it on to someone they care about. That’s what I hope to give everyone I come to be friends with.
