No upper limits…Yash Jain

I am passionate about improving myself and helping people. Every day, when I wake up, I always think of new ways to improve myself. If I am not feeling to up to date about world news, I’ll watch the news. If I am feeling weak, I’ll go to the gym. If my memory is lacking, I’ll play brain training games. The list could go on and on. Now the great part of each of these goals is that there are no upper limits to them. In better words, it means I want to be the best that I can possibly be. Now there is another side to this coin, the greater I am myself, the greater help I can provide to everyone else.

Helping other people was never really my passion until my friend recently inspired me. She was not blessed with the childhood most of us take for granted. Now before any of you think you’ve lived a tough life, be thankful for what you have and where you are today. My friend was forced to be part of a brothel as a child in Iran, but through her determination and perseverance she earned a prestigious scholarship to attend The George Washington University. Now as inspirational as this is, it is quite shocking to see the dark aspects of the world. At this moment, while I am blessed with practically everything, there are egregious acts like this going around the world. I am hungry to change it; I am hungry to change the world.
