At many organizations, internship programs are more about helping the company than helping the student. That’s why iMADdu is working to connect students with nonprofits and small business entrepreneurs through the Student Apprenticeship Program.  Through their Apprenticeships, students gain hands-on entrepreneurial experience and mentorship in their area of interest and skill. Their eyes are opened to different perspectives and perhaps even to a new career path.  They also gain a wide variety of business skills as well as strong interpersonal skills.
Entrepreneurs and the small business start-ups and nonprofits they create are the engine of our economy [from a Kauffman study]. iMADdu hopes to increase the success of current small businesses and nonprofits as well as to inspire the entrepreneurs of tomorrow and provide them with the skill sets they will need to succeed.
iMADdu’s hope is that every student will emerge from the Student Apprenticeship Program with increased confidence, greater interest in and awareness of entrepreneurship, a lifelong mentoring relationship, and business skills that will help them regardless of the path they choose.
iMADdu (I make a difference, do you?) is a nonprofit corporation located in Fairfax, Virginia.
